REALISTIC LIVING is a Research Institute probing the leading edges
of religious, psychological, and sociological awareness.
This research takes many forms: reading key books and journals; attending
various workshops, retreats, films, performances, and conferences; holding
meetings; and managing a research network of collegial explorers of religious
practice and ethical living. Our research is published twice a year in
a 16-page journal and twice a year in a two-page newsletter. These publications
contain religious and ethical essays, movie reviews, book reviews, and
practical contexts and suggestions for fresh forms of Christian religious
practice.
See JOURNALS for more information on these
publications.
Dear Friends of Realistic Living
Would some of you like to help me write a book?
I plan to spend about a third of my working hours in 2012
finishing a book I have been working on for several years. The
Enigma of Consciousness is its title. It might be described as a
philosophy of religion explaining why religion has always been a
critical part of human society and what the role of religion can be in
the future.
I have completed an advanced draft of Part One and put it up on the
Realistic Living web site along with its current table on contents and
the introduction. Each of the seven chapters of Part One is very
brief, only a few pages, and the topic is The Enigma of Truth. I will
be adding other chapters as they are completed.
So how can you help? Download any part of this that interests you
and make comments, suggestions, critiques, raise questions, whatever
you want. All feedback will help me.
Here is the URL to access this book: http://www.RealisticLiving.org/PDF/Enigma/
You will see a list of files, click any one of them and a brief pdf document will download to your computer.
If you wish to respond, simply e-mail me at jgmarshall@cableone.net
I am not asking for detailed editing, but if you want to do that,
please site chapter, page number, paragraph number, and line number for
each correction.
Also, I am anticipating that an e-mail dialogue on these exciting topics will be a rewarding experience.
